Free, integrated youth wellness support that meets you where you are.
Forge is a network of free youth wellness spaces where New Brunswick youth aged 12-25 can access support for mental health, substance use, primary care, and social wellness in one welcoming, easy to navigate service.
We believe support should be easy to find, simple to access, and coordinated around each young person’s needs – whether in a Forge space, through mobile services, or in the community.
Our Story
Forge was formerly known as NB-IYS (New Brunswick Integrated Youth Services). The name has changed but the mission hasn’t: to build and integrate the support networks for youth mental health, substance use services, primary care and social support around the individual needs of youth.
To forge means to create, develop, or shape something new. It’s a fitting name for a place where new skills and futures are cast and shaped — a warm, inviting space where possibilities come to life and individuality is celebrated. At Forge, youth aren’t just supported — they’re inspired to build and become.
The name also reframes what it means to get help. You’re not a passive recipient of care here — you’re an active participant, forging your own connections, skills, friendships, and coping strategies.
It’s a name that works across the province, too: it reads and sounds the same in English and French.
As Forge grows, our hubs will also carry names rooted in local language and meaning:

Our logo carries the same spirit — a forward-facing eagle, one fiery-orange wing and one teal feather-shaped wing, representing courage, freedom, and confident forward motion.

Forge is also for youth, by youth. As New Brunswick’s Integrated Youth Services network, we work with young people from across the province to make sure everything we offer is built for youth, by youth.

Forge is hosted by CMHA NB, with support from the Government of New Brunswick, Graham Boeckh Foundation, Medavie, Bell, McConnell Foundation, Green Shield Canada, Skyline, and Co-operators. They hold a research partnership with Interdisciplinary Research Chair in Mental Health of Children & Young People, Université de Moncton.
